I love rick rack!

Rick rack with modern fabrics? Rick rack on handcrafted cards? Yes and yes! Rick rack is sturdy, doesn’t fray, and can be easily added to any design or pattern. And it has a certain whimsy like no other trim. Rick rack adds a special cuteness to fabric patterns, especially on children’s and kitchen items. It can create a vintage feel but can also become updated when added to modern fabrics. I keep a stash of different bright colors and like to stitch it inside seams so only one half is sticking out. This adds dainty little scallops to…

Springtime Collage Cards with Handmade Paper and Embellishments

I love creating cards with little art collages on the front made of handmade paper scraps, vintage illustrations, and scrapbook supplies. To save time, I purchased a set of blank ready-made cards and envelopes in a neutral cream color. Another favorite is kraft paper cards and envelopes. Butterfly Photography

Another way to be crafty is through photography. I’m no expert, but always have my phone at the ready to capture the beauty around me. I seem to gravitate to things in nature and food (which I suppose is of nature too!) It must be the amazing color combinations and irregular shapes that catch my eye. I think it’s fascinating what Mother Nature can create. Through the years I’ve taken several close up photos of butterflies, and the ones I manage to get in focus can be used for crafty projects. I have printed a few…
