Inspirational Easter Card

Easter is obviously a special time at our church, and the beautiful spring flowers with our colorful stained glass windows creates an atmosphere of inspiration for all of us to enjoy while we celebrate. I recently took an extra minute to snap a photo of this beautiful scene, for a crafty card idea. I have made several of these and sold them during our Sweets Sale just before Easter. Tropical Photography (With More Butterflies!)

This summer my family and I visited the Franklin Park Conservatory and Botanical Gardens in Columbus, Ohio. I went crazy with my iPhone trying to capture the amazing colors of flowers and butterflies surrounded by beautiful shapes of the shiny green leaves. Nothing can beat Mother Nature’s talent! The conservatory is an amazing place with four biomes: Himalayan Mountain, Rainforest, Desert and Pacific Island Water Garden, with over 400 plant species. In the summer they raise and release butterflies into the Pacific Island biome to feed on the nectar of all the tropical flowers. I’m thinking these images…

Butterfly Photography

Another way to be crafty is through photography. I’m no expert, but always have my phone at the ready to capture the beauty around me. I seem to gravitate to things in nature and food (which I suppose is of nature too!) It must be the amazing color combinations and irregular shapes that catch my eye. I think it’s fascinating what Mother Nature can create. Through the years I’ve taken several close up photos of butterflies, and the ones I manage to get in focus can be used for crafty projects.
