Mother & Daughter Cotton Cord Convertible Bracelets & Necklaces

Here’s a super simple crafty idea for a mother and daughter – cotton bohemian cord convertible bracelets & necklaces. I named these convertible because the length that wraps around the wrist twice is the perfect length for a single wrap necklace. So clever! I found these cute supplies to make this summery jewelry, then they promptly disappeared from the store shelves! But I decided to share anyway in hopes they will make a comeback. The star of this look is the colorful casual cord, accented with a simple embellishment. Supplies: Cotton bohemian cord (5 mm) Small tassels or…

Fun Fleece Circle Scarf

Chase away the winter doldrums with a Fun Fleece Circle Scarf. Say that ten times! Fun right? I found this idea from a friend who was wearing this cute colorful scarf and so I crafted my own version to share. Bonus idea: Add extra cheer by matching your scarf colors to your braces bands! 🙂   Supplies: 1/4 yard each of 4 solid and 1 print fleece in coordinating colors 2 squares of 1…

Tropical Photography (With More Butterflies!)

The conservatory is an amazing place with four biomes: Himalayan Mountain, Rainforest, Desert and Pacific Island Water Garden, with over 400 plant species. In the summer they raise and release butterflies into the Pacific Island biome to feed on the nectar of all the tropical flowers. I’m thinking these images…

Pressed Leaves Art Frames

I can’t resist the beautiful shapes and colors of mother nature’s foliage, especially early summer. In the Midwest, periodic rains keep everything growing and fresh. While working in the garden or on a walk, I love picking a few of the prettiest ones and pressing them to use in my crafty projects. My “high-tech” way to press leaves is in old phone books I’ve kept for this purpose. If you happen to still have one, they are great to use because the paper is light and absorbent, and of course phone books are big and heavy…
