Cardmaking with a Focal Point Stamp: Crafter’s Companion “Make a Wish”

Have you ever had a stamp where it just makes a card on its own so easily? I just love it when this happens.

I stamped out the Crafter’s Companion “Make a Wish” mushroom stamp on watercolor paper multiple times and tried some watercoloring with Aqua Markers. Using red for the mushrooms and complemented with green on the ferns and a bright blue sky just makes it pop.

The first card above is literally just the lovely stamp with a dragonfly on some foam pads to add a little dimension.

In the next version, I tried to make a Christmas card with some snowflake paper in the background and red berry die cuts. And a friendly fox and mouse with an acorn gift. All placed on a side stepper card.

I love this one with the added yellow in the leaf and sentiment banner. It brings out all three primary colors – red, blue and yellow – with a the foliage greens in the background.

This last sample was put together with extra bits leftover from other cards – another fox, a stamped sentiment – and all on a dark blue mat to bring it all together.

Sometimes I find myself toiling a bit over putting together that “perfect” card composition, so it’s definitely a fun to find a focal point stamp that just falls into place. Now I have a set of beautiful cards to send to family and friends!
