Delightful Daisies Collection Gallery – Crafting Beautiful Cards

I crafted a beautiful set of cards using the Delightful Daisies collection from Crafters Companion. The items that drew me to the collection was the designer paper pad, the springtime color palette, and the pretty embossed daisy die cut.

It was so fun and relaxing to experiment with different techniques to craft these cards. The way I like to work when making a big set of cards from a collection is to cut, stamp, and color a whole bunch of embellishment elements. Then I cut and fold multiple card bases, including some fancy fold types, and add mat layers with the designer papers. Then I assemble them all together.

The easel card, below right, has a daisy-edge die cut on the top and bottom to add to the beauty as it stands upright.

The daisy, below right, has white petals paper-pieced into the outline die cut shape. I glued all this onto a cute bright yellow scalloped oval to make a pretty focal point.

On the square fold-back card, below right, has the “Faith Hope Love” die cut glued on translucent vellum paper, so the background daisy paper shows through to add dimension.

I cut the my favorite daisy die cut out of watercolor card stock, and painted it with my watercolor markers to enhance the embossed details and give each shape variations of colors and shading.

Side note – check out this floating clock die that covers the entire card front! I love the intricate flowers woven into the design – gorgeous.

I tried a faux “letterpress” with the daisy embossing folder, below, by inking the background side with the blue, carefully placing the paper inside, and running it through my machine. The ink imprints into the background and the deeper lines, and then I colored in the bright yellow centers and added a few shades of gray in the white petals with my watercolor markers.

For the card base, I cut a 6 x 6 inch square card, then added a 2 inch stepper on the right side. It leaves a 4 x 6 inch space on the left – a perfect size for the 4 x 6 embossed daisy topper!

The collection has a two-layer daisy die cut that makes quick and easy daisy embellishments to place around a sentiment, below left.

I love how the fold-back card, below left, has some leaves poking out from the “Faith Hope Love” sentiment and floats above the pretty daisy paper.

I hope some of these ideas inspire you to try them in your own card crafting – enjoy!
