“Sewing to Sell” Project Series

I ran across Virginia Lindsay’s book “Sewing to Sell” at the library and instantly fell in love with her style and fabric combinations. (You can find her website at Gingercake.org) I love all the fabulous projects she shares because they are the kinds of ideas I love to sew and they are at a similar skill level as I am. She also shows how to get the most out of your fabric. (I have a thing about using fabric efficiently and am always resizing my patterns to have the least amount of scraps!) She has drawings of how to cut out the pattern pieces to fit perfectly within a standard width of fabric.

Most of all, I love how she encourages the reader to take the next step with their love of sewing. After reading Sewing to Sell, I really started to gain the confidence to start this blog and began to think that my ideas and techniques could be something other sewers and crafters would enjoy.

She has patterns you can try and even gives permission to sell the pieces you sew with them. So as a little “thank you” I decided I would sew some of my favorite projects from the book and share how they turn out.

Stay tuned for each project post in the series, and I hope they inspire you to sew some crafty projects too!
